Contemporary British Painter

Gosh, what a long time since my last blog post! I think I hibernated this winter a little. I have still been working away here in Lincoln, but I must say I‘m so pleased to have longer days and some signs of spring appearing! Here are some of the pieces I have been working on recently. Spring is really my favourite season, I try and savour all the vibrant greens as the leaves appear on the trees. I‘ve been waiting for the right moment to begin work on a large commissioned view from the West Common towards the Cathedral…

I’m working on a commission piece now, almost finished. It’s a familiar subject, I’ve painted it many many times, but something keeps drawing me back to it. Aside from the fact I can’t physically avoid the views of the Cathedral living here, there is an ongoing challenge to painting it, which keeps me looking, questioning and somehow attempting to understand and represent it in paint.
